ANNUAL DAY REPORT-2011


Annual Report of Kendriya Vidyalaya, CME, for the year 2011-12

Good Evening!
Eminent Chief Guest, Brig. Sanjeev Vashisht, Chairman VMC and Commander F-Civil, the guest of honor, Mrs. Chitra Vashisht, Chairman Nominee Lt. Col. Sanjeev Kumar, VMC members, other dignitaries, distinguished guests and dear parents. A very warm welcome to every one present here. This is indeed an honor for me to have you all here when you have so warmly accepted our invitation and is here to encourage and bless our children.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is an organization with over thousands of employees and we shape thousands of raw stones which we send out as polished gems to face this bold new world. All of us are proud of our students’ achievements and the accolades which they receive any where at anytime.  Aren’t all parents like that?
Hence, to achieve this, it is not necessary to be an institution but it is necessary to be a working one headed big team. That is what we are. And I am proud to say that it has always been like this.

Now, to enumerate the infrastructural details, our Vidyalaya is constructed with all the necessary facilities for the students, considering the growing educational needs. we are well aware of the new developments and innovations presently in this field of education, hence we update ourselves by equipping with all the necessary educational gadgets so that our children get the best. We are to install the CCTV facility in the school for the upkeep of better discipline and smooth functioning of the school. The computer labs are fitted with all the new technology available with all the computers connected to the internet facility. Also it is my pleasure to announce that we have purchased 20 new computers in order to keep the student computer ratio to 15:1.  Every other lab and all the other departments are connected with internet facility so that the teachers as well as the students are never deprived of easy access to knowledge through fast information transfer.

Our school has a student population of 1500 and has three sections in each class and two sections each for classes XI and XII with science and commerce stream. Enumerating the academic achievements, the Vidyalaya has been bringing forth excellent results. All academic activities are meticulously planned and earnestly implemented complying to the KVS guidelines to ensure good results. We are also complying with the new system of Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation up to class X, which ensures the holistic development of the child. The school has got 100% result in the Primary section and the result of the secondary section was also equally impressive with zero failures. Timely Parent teacher meetings are being held for better monitoring and counseling of the students.
Board class results for the year 2010-11 stands at 100% for class X and 95.95%for class XII. Master Sanju A kumar in the science stream and Kumari Refaut Parveen in the commerce stream had secured the school highest with 94.6% and 91% respectively. It is also a matter of pride that our school had secured the second position in the cluster with the highest pass percent in the commerce stream. In class X, the toppers were Master Sumesh Singh, Master Shreyas Rao and Master Pradeep Desai with full CGPA of 10/10.
On this occasion I wish to express my gratitude to the Chairman VMC and Commander F-Civil for having bestowed our students with his blessings and encouragement by providing cash prizes of Rs.1000/- for each topper in class X and XII. It is indeed a gesture which is worth praise. Thank you Sir. Let me also inform you that every year the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan bestows an amount of Rs 5000/- on each topper of both Xth and XIIth class. So, this year too, the Sangathan will be bestowing this amount to all the toppers who have secured the top most position in class X and XII.

Primary Section:
Education in the Primary section is imparted through activities and Play way method known as Common Minimum Program as per NCF 2005. We never let like little ones to be disappointed as we organize different activities and shows to make them feel welcome in Class I so that they feel at home. Film shows and games are part of their curriculum.
Many competitions were organized as part of CCA in the Primary which included storytelling, recitation, debate, group dance, group song, rangoli, cook without fire, slogan writing etc.
Secondary Section:
Coming to the Senior and Higher Secondary Section, different programmes related to the development of the co-curricular skills of the students were conducted throughout the year. The students showcased their talents with zest and enthusiasm. As usual the month of September we celebrated the Hindi Pakhwada to promote our National language.
This year, too, our students have shown their social commitment by collecting around Rs.65,000/- for the Smile Foundation as part of Charity.
Adolescence Education programme is successfully implemented and students of classes IX to XII were given special counseling by our NAEP councilors. Various doctors of eminence were also called to counsel the students and parents. On behalf of the school I would like thank Dr. Shilpa Shinde and Dr. George Varghese for taking their valuable time in making the students and parents aware of the various solutions and methods to tackle adolescent related problems. Many programmes related to this cause, for example, skits, group discussion, poster making etc were also conducted.
An AEP workshop was conducted at KV Ganeshkhind for 5 days and Mrs. Shaheen Tabussum TGT, Mr. Akhilesh Kumar Pandey TGT, attended this Nodal Teachers Training.
This year is also celebrated as the International Year of Chemistry and various programmes related to chemistry have been organized both by KVS and in the school level also. Again debates, seminars, display board preparation, essay writing etc were organized.
To enhance the overall development of scientific temperament of the students different activities are organized by KVS. Science exhibition was organized in the month of October. Master Abhirup Sarkar and Master Shamsuddin of Calss X represented KV CME with five projects at KV IIT Powai, Mumbai. Master Abhirup Sarkar’s exhibit was later selected to represent the Nationals which were held at Ahmedabad.
10 groups of students participated in Regional Children Science Congress which was held at KV BEG out of which three groups were selected for Nationals. The theme was land resources and how to develop research and survey based activity. Three groups with their team leaders represented the National Children Science congress held at Jaipur. One of the team led by Master Harish Rajan has been selected to represent Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan at national Level. I should take this opportunity to thank Dr. Amarjeet Gupta, Senior Scientist, Director of Onion and Garlic Research Centre and Colonel Sunil Mishra, SEMT Dept. CME for guiding and helping our students in achieving all these accolades.

Different competitive examinations under Science Olympiad Foundation were and will be held in the school. This includes National Cyber Olympiad, Science Olympiad, International Mathematics Olympiad, English Olympiad and Green Olympiad. 37 students participated in the cyber Olympiad and Master Kushal Singh of class XII(sci) is qualified for level II. He has secured an international rank of 464th position. 156 students appeared for the Science Olympiad, 209 for Mathematics and English Olympiad will be held in the month of January 2012. Green Olympiad also had 74 students participating and the results of all the Olympiads are waiting. Students were taken to IUCCA for an activity and project based learning program in the month of October.
 Newspaper in Education, under the guidance of Times of India has been organizing various programmes in the school this year and is successfully running with lot of activities which is ably guided by Mrs. Juliet Karodi TGT(Eng.).

Coming to social studies, this year too, our school was the venue for the Cluster level SST exhibition and our students participated in all the events with lot of interest. As usual we had exhibits and projects, group dance, English and Hindi debates, quiz and drama as part of the competitions. This year is the year of winning. Our students Yanvi and Trisha of class X won first place in cluster level English debate, Hariom Pandey first and Shivam Pandey in second position in Hindi debate , the group dance won the second position in cluster level and Hindi skit came third. Of this Yanvi came second in the Regional level and Trisha of class X secured third position for English Debate and many exhibits were also selected in the regional level.

Scouts and Guides:
KV CME has always motivated in promoting Scouts and guides movement for instilling values like Discipline, civic sense, confidence and character building in students. This has been a great movement in the Vidyalaya with strength of 177 students, 6 scouts masters, 2cubmasters, 4 guide captains and 4 flock leaders. Every week on Wednesday various activities mentioned in the syllabus is conducted for the all round development of the students. Many activities are conducted in the cluster and regional level also where our students have participated. 16 students passed successfully in Tritiya Sopan testing camp held at KV Dehu Road No1, Pune. 4 students participated Rajya Puraskar testing camp held at KV Mankurd , Mumbai. One guide Kumari Vengamma of class X is selected for Rashtrapati Puraskar.

Student achievers and other important events:
Here I would like to mention Master Kshitij Deshmukh who had participated for a program held for students in deriving the scientist in them. It was organized by the Moving Academy of Medicine and bio Medicine, Pune- for discovering little scientist during summer vacation research programme for young scientist. He secured the  budding scientist award.
Master Akhil Pillai of class XII has again done miracle in roll ball skating by establishing a Guinness world record.
Master Aditya Shinde of class IX C has secured third position in Pune International Marathon, also participated in National level Athletics meet in the month August 2011.

I also want to thank Shree Sanjay Dada Dharmadikari for conducting Vanmahotsava in the school on 18th July 2011, and planting almost 500 saplings as part of the promotion of greenery to the environment. This year also the Parth foundation had honored our teachers on the teachers’ day with certificates as mark of respect.
Mrs. Aruna TGT had attended an exchange programme for three months conducted by the Deutch Academic association in collaboration with Tata Institute of Social sciences in Germany this year and Mr. D K Mishra PGT had attended a course of three months in Guidance and counseling at Regional Institute of Education, Bhopal conducted by NCERT for handling the student related issues in schools in a more methodized manner.
I also would like to mention those teachers who achieved superannuation this year, Mr. Khairnar, Librarian, and Mrs. G R Sita Murthy, PET, who had rendered their services to KVS for long years and have now happily retired. May God bless them with long and happy retired life.
To sum up, I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the Chairman of the school and members of the VMC for their constant support and guidance.  I also like to thank the MES and different departments of CME for being so helpful, understanding and supportive. I thank each and every parent for their undying trust in us. It is only with your co-operation that we can achieve even better result in the next academic session. Let us all work together for a better and brighter tomorrow for our children.
