Dear Parents,                                                                         23/1/2012

Warm greetings

Recently, I read an article in the  daily, Maharashtra Times, dated 23rd January, 2012, and felt to convey the findings of the survey conducted by Creative Engineers and Educational Research Institute given in the article.
1.    The survey was conducted of 1388 students who had secured 97 or more marks  in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the last four years from 2008 to 2011 in the Board Examination.
2.    These students are pursuing higher education in Medical, Engineering, Pharmacy etc.
3.    Out of 1388 students 1373 were going to the coaching classes. However, they felt that SELF STUDY proved useful for securing more marks.
4.    83% students say that they got the marks as expected whereas for rest of the students the marks are unexpected.
5.    Every student had thoroughly read the TEXT BOOK.
6.    66%  students said , that they studied right from the first day regularly, through out the year. Every day they studied as per plan for 8-10 hours a day.
7.    All most all the students had solved at least 6 previous board papers.
8.    63% students preferred INDIVIDUAL STUDY than GROUP STUDY.
9.    Every student said that , it is essential to read ENTIRE QUESTION PAPER before starting to solve the paper, and planned a strategy to answer the paper.
10.                        31% students took part in the extra curricular activities throughout the year.
11.                       Though there was no restriction on viewing TV , however, on an average all the students have viewed TV not more than HALF AN HOUR PER DAY.
12.                       93% students had practiced 2000 multiple choice questions in Physics and Chemistry.
13.                       Almost all the students gave emphasis on REVISION from January onwards till the exam got over.
14.                       88% students expressed that in depth study of the subjects proved useful for future studies apart from scoring in the Board Examination.
15.                        Detailed study of the subjects has helped students to perform well in the Comman Entrance Test, whereas 84% students studied for Board Examiantion and CET together.
16.                        Only 52% students had separate study room, whereas other studied in the Library or Study room in the school.
17.                       Most of the students expressed that ONLINE SOFTWARES are NOT USEFUL  for the Board Examination or CET.

The findings given above are guidelines to us so that we can plan properly for the students and help them achieve the best result.

With warm regards,

R.K.LALE
